This antibody is specific for Influenza A virus Nucleoprotein (H1N1, H3N2, H5N8, and H10N3) and does not cross-react with Influenza B virus Nucleoprotein.
Target Information
The nucleoprotein (NP) of Influenza A virus encapsidates the negative strand of viral RNA and is essential for replicative transcription. It may also participate in other critical functions throughout the virus life cycle. NP binds ssRNA and self-associates to form large oligomeric complexes. It interacts with viral and cellular macromolecules, including PB1, PB2, and matrix protein M1. NP also interacts with several cellular polypeptide families such as nuclear import receptors (importin class), filamentous actin (F-actin), nuclear export receptor CRM1, and DEAD box helicase BAT1/UAP56 (Portela et al., 2002).
