Human thyroglobulin (hTg)는 갑상선 여포 세포에서 발견되는 고분자량 당단백질(약 605 kDa)로, 갑상선 호르몬 T4 및 T3의 흡수, 합성, 조절된 생합성 과정에서 중심적인 역할을 합니다.
자가면역성 갑상선 질환(예: Hashimoto thyroiditis, Graves disease)에서 anti-hTG 항체가 발견되며, 특히 Hashimoto thyroiditis에서 가장 높은 수준으로 나타납니다. 또한, anti-hTG는 갑상선암의 특징적 표지로, 암 환자의 추적 관찰에 활용될 수 있습니다.
