This antibody detects endogenous levels of total Cytochrome P450 2R1.
Target Information
CYP2R1 belongs to the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. These proteins are monooxygenases that catalyze reactions involved in drug metabolism and the synthesis of cholesterol, steroids, and other lipids. CYP2R1 functions as a microsomal vitamin D hydroxylase, converting vitamin D into the active ligand for the vitamin D receptor. Mutations in the CYP2R1 gene are associated with selective 25-hydroxyvitamin D deficiency.
