Target Information

Retinoic Acid (RA), the active metabolite of vitamin A, regulates the transition of proliferating precursor cells (such as carcinoma and neuronal precursors) into postmitotic differentiated cells.
The Retinoid X Receptors (RXRs: alpha, beta, gamma) preferentially bind 9-cis-RA and regulate gene transcription by forming heterodimers with Retinoic Acid Receptors (RARs).
RA signaling plays critical roles in neuronal development, synaptic plasticity, and may have therapeutic potential in certain cancers such as cervical cancer.
