Target Information
SOX2는 배아 발달 조절 및 세포 운명 결정에 관여하는 SRY-related HMG-box (SOX) 계열 전사 인자입니다. 중추신경계에서 줄기세포 유지에 필수적이며, 위에서의 유전자 발현도 조절합니다. SOX2 유전자는 SOX2OT (SOX2 overlapping transcript) 유전자 내 인트론에 위치하며, 다른 단백질과 복합체를 형성해 전사 활성화 인자로 작용할 수 있습니다. SOX2 유전자 변이는 양측성 무안구증, 시신경 형성 저하, 증후성 소안구증 등 심각한 안구 구조 이상과 관련이 있습니다.
