• Source: Escherichia coli carrying a plasmid encoding the RspRSII gene
• Concentration: 10 units/µl
• Substrate for unit definition: lambda DNA
• Star activity: cleavage at alternative site(s) occurs in the presence of high concentrations of glycerol
• Inactivation: Residual activity observed after EtOH precipitation or incubation at 70°C for 15 minutes. No residual activity observed after phenol treatment.
• MseI, an isoschizomer of RspRSII, is a restriction enzyme that cleaves within the recognition sequence 5-TTAA-3. MseI is exceptionally stable and has an optimal reaction temperature of 60°C. It can be used to pretreat (fragment) genomic DNA prior to enrichment of methylated DNA using the EpiXplore Methylated DNA Enrichment Kit.
• Each lot undergoes stringent quality testing including overdigestion, genome DNA analysis, ligation-recutting and pKF3 cloning
