Target Information
PRELP는 결합조직의 세포외기질에 존재하는 leucine-rich repeat 단백질로, basement membrane을 결합조직에 고정시키는 역할을 합니다.
이 단백질은 type I collagen 및 type II collagen과 결합하며, basement membrane의 heparan sulfate proteoglycan인 perlecan과도 결합합니다.
또한 Hutchinson-Gilford progeria (HGP)의 병리기전과 연관이 있는 것으로 알려져 있으며, HGP에서는 basement membrane과 cartilage에서 collagen 결합이 결여된 것으로 보고되었습니다.
