Target Information
Peroxiredoxin (Prx)은 세포 증식, 분화 및 세포자멸사(apoptosis)와 관련된 퍼옥시다제(peroxidase) 계열 단백질입니다. 약 50여 개의 동종 단백질이 존재하며, 활성 부위에 시스테인 잔기를 포함하고 티올 특이적 항산화 활성을 가집니다.
포유류 Prx는 typical 2-Cys, atypical 2-Cys, 1-Cys Prx 세 부류로 나뉘며, 대부분 thioredoxin, thioredoxin reductase, NADPH를 이용한 thioredoxin-dependent peroxidase(TPx) 활성을 가집니다.
Prx 단백질은 분자량 20–30 kDa 범위이며, 세포 내 다양한 위치에 존재합니다. Prx I, II, VI는 세포질에, Prx III는 미토콘드리아에, Prx IV는 소포체 및 분비계에, Prx V는 퍼옥시좀, 미토콘드리아, 세포질 등 복합적인 분포를 보입니다.
