Product Description

Varicella zoster virus (VZV)는 인간 및 기타 척추동물을 감염시키는 8가지 헤르페스 바이러스 중 하나입니다.
VZV는 어린이에게 수두(chickenpox)를, 성인에게 대상포진(shingles)과 대상포진 후 신경통(postherpetic neuralgia)을 유발합니다.
1차 감염은 수두를 일으키며, 드물게 뇌염이나 폐렴 등의 합병증을 초래할 수 있습니다.
VZV는 신경계에 잠복하며, 약 10~20%의 환자에서 재활성화되어 대상포진으로 나타납니다.
심각한 합병증으로는 postherpetic neuralgia, zoster multiplex, myelitis, herpes ophthalmicus, zoster sine herpete 등이 있습니다.
