Target Information
Sm-like proteins were identified in various organisms based on sequence homology with the Sm protein family. They contain the Sm sequence motif, consisting of two regions separated by a variable-length linker forming a loop. These proteins are believed to form stable heteromers present in tri-snRNP particles, which are essential for pre-mRNA splicing.
