Annexin A2 유전자는 calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding 단백질 패밀리의 구성원으로, 세포 성장 조절 및 신호전달 경로에 관여합니다. 이 단백질은 자가분비 인자로 작용하여 osteoclast 형성과 골 흡수를 촉진합니다. 해당 유전자는 염색체 4, 9, 10에 각각 세 개의 pseudogene을 가지고 있으며, 다양한 isoform을 암호화하는 여러 스플라이싱 변이체가 존재합니다.
