This antibody has specificity for Mouse CD180/RP105.
Target Information
CD180 (RP105, Bgp95, LY64) is a type I membrane glycoprotein of the Toll-like receptor (TLR) family. Unlike other TLRs, CD180 lacks the TIR domain in its cytoplasmic tail. Its expression depends on coexpression with MD-1 and mirrors TLR4 on antigen-presenting cells.
CD180 regulates LPS recognition and B cell signaling by interacting with the TLR4 complex and inhibiting microbial ligand binding. Ligation of CD180 by monoclonal antibodies induces B cell activation, CD80/CD86 upregulation, and increased cell size. The extracellular region contains leucine-rich repeats (LRR) forming the RP105/MD-1 receptor complex.
Dysfunction of CD180 is associated with Kawasaki Disease in children and may contribute to rheumatic disease pathology.
