Target Information
CD127 (Interleukin-7 receptor, IL7R) is a glycoprotein involved in the regulation of lymphopoiesis. Cellular response to CD127 depends on the presence of IL7R, an alpha/gamma chain heterodimer.
- The gamma(c) chain activates signal transduction.
- The alpha chain determines specific signaling events through association with cytoplasmic molecules.
CD127 promotes proliferation of precursor B cells, thymocytes, T cell progenitors, and mature CD4+ and CD8+ T cells.
Dysfunction of CD127 is associated with severe combined immunodeficiency and T cell negative/B cell negative/NK positive severe combined immunodeficiency.
