Target Information

Palladin is a cytoskeletal protein required for the organization of the normal actin cytoskeleton. It plays roles in establishing cell morphology, motility, adhesion, and cell–extracellular matrix interactions. Palladin functions as a scaffolding molecule that influences actin polymerization and filament assembly. It binds to proteins associated with monomeric or filamentous actin and localizes to sites of active actin remodeling, such as lamellipodia and membrane ruffles. Different isoforms of Palladin may have distinct functional roles. It is also involved in morphological and cytoskeletal changes during dendritic cell maturation.
