Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
HAMP is involved in the maintenance of iron homeostasis and is necessary for the regulation of iron storage in macrophages and intestinal iron absorption. The preproprotein is post-translationally cleaved into mature peptides (20, 22, and 25 amino acids), which are rich in cysteines forming intramolecular bonds that stabilize their beta-sheet structures. These peptides exhibit antimicrobial activity.
