Target Information
MRPL23는 포유류 미토콘드리아 리보솜 단백질로, 핵 유전자에 의해 암호화되어 미토콘드리아 내 단백질 합성에 관여합니다. 미토콘드리아 리보솜(mitoribosome)은 28S 소단위와 39S 대단위로 구성되며, 단백질 대 RNA 비율이 약 75%로, 원핵 리보솜과 비교해 반대의 비율을 가집니다. 포유류 미토콘드리아 리보솜은 5S rRNA를 포함하지 않으며, 종에 따라 단백질 서열과 생화학적 특성이 크게 다릅니다. MRPL23 유전자는 39S 소단위 단백질을 암호화하며, 염색체 11의 각인 유전자 영역에 위치하지만 양쪽 대립유전자로 발현됩니다.
