Target Information
The SIPA1 gene encodes a mitogen-induced GTPase activating protein that specifically acts on Ras-related regulatory proteins Rap1 and Rap2, but not on Ran or other small GTPases. Abnormal or premature expression may interfere with mitogen-induced cell cycle progression. The protein is localized to the perinuclear region. Two alternatively spliced variants encoding the same isoform have been identified.
