Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

Anti-Plasminogen is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process including delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion-exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis. Immunoelectrophoresis shows a single precipitin arc against anti-Peroxidase, anti-Goat Serum, and purified or partially purified Human Plasminogen. Cross-reactivity with plasminogen from other species is unknown.

Target Information

Plasminogen is a plasma protein synthesized mainly in the liver, consisting of a single polypeptide chain (88.5 kDa). The plasma concentration typically ranges from 70–200 mg/L. It is activated by tissue-plasminogen activator, urokinase, and streptokinase to form plasmin. Activation occurs through cleavage and release of the preactivation peptide. Plasmin comprises a heavy (A) chain with five kringles and a light (B) chain containing the active site. As a trypsin-like protease, plasmin’s natural substrate is fibrin, with binding sites located on the kringles. Plasmin is essential for fibrinolysis; congenital defects can lead to reduced fibrinolytic activity and recurrent thrombosis, thrombophlebitis, or pulmonary embolism.
