Target Information

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the CARD protein family, characterized by the presence of a caspase-associated recruitment domain (CARD). CARD domains mediate protein-protein interactions that regulate activation or suppression of caspase family members, playing an important role in apoptosis regulation.
CARD9 interacts selectively with the CARD domain of BCL10, a positive regulator of apoptosis and NF-κB activation, functioning as a molecular scaffold for the BCL10 signaling complex that activates NF-κB.
Several alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified, though their full-length forms are not fully defined.
