Target Information
Apoptosis 억제 단백질(IAP) 계열은 다양한 자극에 의해 유도되는 프로그램된 세포 사멸을 조절합니다. 모든 IAP 단백질은 항-세포사멸 활성을 위해 필수적인 BIR(baculovirus IAP repeat) 모티프를 최소 하나 이상 포함합니다. 최근, apoptosis 자극에 의해 미토콘드리아에서 방출되는 serine protease인 Omi/HtrA2가 확인되었습니다. 이 단백질은 IAP에 결합하며, Smac/DIABLO와 유사하게 N-말단에 보존된 IAP 결합 모티프(AVPS)를 포함합니다. 세포질 내 Omi의 비정상적 발현은 apoptosis를 유도하며, 이는 Omi가 미토콘드리아 경로의 apoptosis 조절에 관여할 수 있음을 시사합니다.
