Target Information
The PDLIM7 protein belongs to a family characterized by conserved PDZ and LIM domains. LIM domains are involved in protein–protein recognition, participating in gene transcription, development, and cytoskeletal interactions. The LIM domains bind protein kinases, while the PDZ domain binds actin filaments. PDLIM7 functions as an adaptor, localizing LIM-binding proteins to actin filaments in both skeletal and nonmuscle tissues. It plays a role in actin filament-associated complexes essential for ret/ptc2 mitogenic signaling. Multiple transcript variants exist due to alternative splicing.
