Target Information
Retinoid-related orphan receptor beta (RORβ) is a nuclear receptor (NR1 family) involved in the development and function of the central nervous system, including sensory input integration and circadian timing.
Disruption in mice leads to juvenile ataxia, retinal degeneration, circadian rhythm abnormalities, and delayed male fertility onset.
RORβ binds monomeric response elements containing the sequence AnnTAGGTCA as a monomer.
An alternatively spliced isoform, RORβ2, is expressed in the pineal gland and retina, sharing common DNA- and ligand-binding domains with RORβ but differing in the amino-terminal domain.
Expression of RORβ is documented in multiple regions of the mouse brain.
