CAMK1 (CaMK1) is a serine/threonine kinase belonging to the calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase family.
It plays roles in cell differentiation, nervous system development, and signal transduction.
CAMK1 is expressed in various tissues and acts as part of a calmodulin-dependent kinase cascade.
Calcium/calmodulin directly activates CAMK1 by binding to the enzyme and promotes phosphorylation and synergistic activation through CaMK1 kinase.
