Target Information
Transglutaminase (TGase)는 Ca²⁺ 결합을 필요로 하며 e-(γ-glutamyl) lysine isopeptide 결합을 형성하여 단백질 간 교차결합을 촉매한다. 포유류에서는 8가지 TGase 동종효소가 확인되었으며, Tissue transglutaminase (tTGase, TGase 2)는 N-terminal β-sandwich, catalytic core, 두 개의 C-terminal β-barrel domain으로 구성된다. tTGase는 세포 사멸, 증식, 분화, 수용체 매개 내포작용 등에 관여하며, 알츠하이머병 뇌에서는 Ab peptide, β-amyloid precursor protein, tau protein 등과의 중합을 통해 신경섬유 엉킴(neurofibrillary tangles) 형성에 기여한다.
