Target Information
The Metabotropic Glutamate Receptor mGluR4 (GRM4) binds L-glutamate, the primary excitatory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system. It activates ionotropic and metabotropic glutamate receptors involved in normal brain function and various neuropathologic conditions. The metabotropic glutamate receptors are G protein-coupled receptors classified into three groups based on sequence homology, signaling mechanisms, and pharmacologic properties.
