Description
Restek’s polar-deactivated surface tightly binds the Carbowax polymer and increases thermal stability compared to competitive columns. Due to the enhanced stability from the bonding process, Stabilwax columns exhibit long lifetimes even with repeated temperature programming up to 260 °C.
The bonding mechanism ensures consistent retention times for polar compounds, unlike other wax-type columns. This mechanism also allows column rejuvenation through solvent washing.
Stabilwax columns are suitable for a wide range of compounds and matrices, including:
- FAMEs
- Flavor compounds
- Essential oils
- Solvents
- Aromatics (including xylene isomers)
- Acrolein/acrylonitrile (EPA 603)
- Oxygenated compounds
Also used for purity testing of chemicals and analysis of alcoholic beverages.
