Product Specific Information

PA1-4139 detects Alien in human samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blot procedures.
The immunogen sequence (E239–E250) of human Alien is 100% conserved in mouse, rat, and Drosophila.

Target Information

Isocitrate dehydrogenases catalyze the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate to 2-oxoglutarate. These enzymes belong to two distinct subclasses: one utilizing NAD(+) and the other NADP(+).
Five isocitrate dehydrogenases have been reported—three NAD(+)-dependent forms localized to the mitochondrial matrix, and two NADP(+)-dependent forms (one mitochondrial, one cytosolic).
NAD(+)-dependent isocitrate dehydrogenases catalyze the allosterically regulated rate-limiting step of the tricarboxylic acid cycle. Each isozyme is a heterotetramer composed of two alpha, one beta, and one gamma subunit.
The gene encoding this protein represents the beta subunit of one NAD(+)-dependent isozyme. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described.
