Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
DHCR24 is a flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD)-dependent oxidoreductase that catalyzes the reduction of the delta-24 double bond of sterol intermediates during cholesterol biosynthesis. This protein contains a leader sequence directing it to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. Missense mutations in this gene are associated with desmosterolosis. Reduced expression of DHCR24 has been observed in the temporal cortex of Alzheimer’s disease patients, while overexpression has been reported in adrenal gland cancer cells.
