Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL (Product #89882).


Target Information

This gene encodes two proteins: sterol carrier protein X (SCPx) and sterol carrier protein 2 (SCP2), generated from two independently regulated promoters.

  • The proximal promoter produces SCPx, a peroxisome-associated thiolase involved in oxidation of branched chain fatty acids.
  • The distal promoter produces SCP2, an intracellular lipid transfer protein.
    Both proteins share a common C-terminus.

This gene is highly expressed in organs related to lipid metabolism and may be involved in Zellweger syndrome, characterized by peroxisome deficiency and impaired bile acid synthesis.
Alternative splicing yields multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
