BAG 단백질은 Hsc70/Hsp70 ATPase 도메인에 결합하여 기질 방출을 촉진합니다. 모든 BAG 단백질은 C-말단 근처에 약 45개의 아미노산으로 구성된 BAG 도메인을 가지며, N-말단 영역에서 차이를 보입니다. 예측된 BAG2 단백질은 211개의 아미노산으로 구성되어 있으며, BAG1, BAG2, BAG3의 BAG 도메인은 Hsc70 ATPase 도메인과 특이적으로 상호작용합니다. 세 단백질 모두 Hsc70 ATPase 도메인에 높은 친화도로 결합하여 Hip에 의해 억제 가능한 방식으로 샤페론 활성을 억제합니다.
