Target Information
CD200 is a type-1 membrane glycoprotein containing two immunoglobulin domains and belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is broadly distributed on cell surfaces and interacts with CD200R on myeloid cells, playing a role in inhibiting macrophage activation. Homologues of CD200 are found in herpesviruses and poxviruses. In mouse and rat, CD200 regulates myeloid cell activity and provides an inhibitory signal for macrophage lineage in various tissues. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. CD200 dysfunction has been linked to diseases such as Mantle Cell Lymphoma and Primary Hypertrophic Osteoarthropathy.
