Target Information
NAGS (N-acetylglutamate synthase)는 미토콘드리아 효소로, 글루탐산과 아세틸 CoA로부터 N-acetylglutamate (NAG)를 합성합니다.
NAG는 포유류 요소 회로의 첫 번째 효소인 carbamyl phosphate synthetase I (CPSI)의 보조인자로 작용합니다.
이 효소의 결핍은 고암모니아혈증(hyperammonemia)과 관련이 있습니다.
NAGS 유전자는 NAG의 가용성을 조절함으로써 CPSI 활성 및 요소 생성(ureagenesis)을 조절할 수 있습니다.
