Antibody detects endogenous levels of total IL-2R beta/CD122.
Target Information
CD122 (Interleukin 2 receptor beta) is involved in T cell-mediated immune responses, primarily expressed in the hematopoietic system and exists in three forms:
- Low affinity form: alpha subunit monomer, not involved in signal transduction
- Intermediate affinity form: alpha/beta heterodimer
- High affinity form: alpha/beta/gamma heterotrimer
Both the intermediate and high affinity forms participate in receptor-mediated endocytosis and mitogenic signal transduction. The CD122 gene encodes the beta subunit, a type I membrane protein.
Dysfunction of CD122 is associated with oligoarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis and rheumatoid factor negative juvenile idiopathic arthritis.
