Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the formin family of proteins. It is classified as a diaphanous formin due to the presence of a diaphanous inhibitory domain at the N-terminus. Studies in mouse indicate a role in actin filament polymerization and depolymerization. Mutations in this gene have been linked to focal segmental glomerulosclerosis 5.
