Target Information
Hepatoma-derived growth factor-related protein 2 (HDGFRP2) is a widely expressed member of a protein family that includes HDGF-related proteins 1–4 and lens epithelial derived growth factor (LEDGF). These proteins share extensive homology at the amino terminus (termed the HATH region).
Although the precise role of HDGFRP2 is not fully understood, it has been shown to bind HIV-1 integrase and stimulate its activity in vitro, similar to LEDGF.
