Target Information
BNIP1 (BCL2/adenovirus E1B 19 kDa-interacting protein 1) is a member of the BNIP family. It interacts with the E1B 19 kDa protein, which protects against virally induced cell death, and with BCL2-like sequences. Alternative splicing of BNIP1 produces four transcript variants of unknown function. The BNIP1 variant contains the full coding region and a conserved BH3 domain associated with pro-apoptotic activity.
