Chloride channels are a diverse group of proteins that regulate key cellular processes such as stabilization of membrane potential, transepithelial transport, intracellular pH maintenance, and regulation of cell volume.
Chloride intracellular channel 4 (CLIC4), encoded by the CLIC4 gene, belongs to the p64 family and is expressed in many tissues. It exhibits an intracellular vesicular pattern in Panc-1 (pancreatic cancer) cells.
