Target Information
IRF2 belongs to the interferon regulatory factor family. IRF2 regulates transcription important for cell proliferation and immune responses by binding to the upstream regulatory region of type I IFN and IFN-inducible MHC class I genes (interferon consensus sequence, ICS) and repressing those genes.
Additionally, IRF2 functions as a transcriptional activator of histone H4 via interactions with NF-kappa B.
