Target Information

VPS51 acts as a component of the GARP complex, which is involved in retrograde transport from early and late endosomes to the trans-Golgi network (TGN). The GARP complex is essential for protein retrieval from endosomes to the TGN, lysosome function, cholesterol trafficking, and autophagy.
It also functions as part of the EARP complex, involved in endocytic recycling and associated with Rab4-positive endosomes, promoting recycling of internalized transferrin receptor (TFRC) to the plasma membrane.
