Target Information
The INF2 gene encodes a member of the formin family of proteins. It is classified as a diaphanous formin due to the presence of a diaphanous inhibitory domain at the N-terminus. Studies of the mouse ortholog suggest a role in actin filament polymerization and depolymerization.
Mutations in this gene have been associated with focal segmental glomerulosclerosis 5.
