MAPK1 (ERK2)는 serine/threonine kinase로서 p90 RSK, MSK, ELK1, Stat3의 중요한 활성화 인자이며, MAPK pathway에 관여합니다.
MAP kinases(ERKs)는 다양한 생화학적 신호의 통합 지점으로 작용하며, 세포 증식, 분화, 전사 조절, 발달 등 다양한 세포 과정에 관여합니다.
이 효소의 활성화는 상위 kinase에 의한 인산화가 필요하며, 활성화 후에는 자극받은 세포의 핵으로 이동하여 핵 내 표적 단백질을 인산화합니다.
