Target Information
The LILRB3 gene belongs to the leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor (LIR) family, located at chromosomal region 19q13.4.
This protein is part of the subfamily B class of LIR receptors, containing multiple extracellular immunoglobulin domains, a transmembrane domain, and cytoplasmic immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs (ITIMs).
It is expressed on immune cells and binds to MHC class I molecules on antigen-presenting cells, delivering inhibitory signals that regulate immune activation.
LILRB3 is thought to play a role in controlling inflammatory responses and cytotoxicity, maintaining immune balance and preventing autoreactivity.
Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
