Target Information
E-Cadherin (epithelial cadherin)은 calcium-dependent adhesion protein 슈퍼패밀리에 속하는 고전적 cadherin 단백질입니다. 이 단백질은 세포 간 부착을 매개하는 glycoprotein으로, 5개의 extracellular cadherin 반복 영역, transmembrane 영역, 그리고 고도로 보존된 cytoplasmic tail로 구성되어 있습니다.
CDH1 유전자의 변이는 위암, 유방암, 대장암, 갑상선암 및 난소암 등과 관련이 있으며, E-cadherin의 발현 감소 또는 소실은 암의 침윤 및 전이 가능성과 양의 상관관계를 보입니다.
E-cadherin은 세포 구조 유지 및 조직 무결성 유지에 중요한 역할을 하며, 인간에서는 염색체 16에 위치한 CDH1 유전자에 의해 암호화됩니다.
