Target Information
ADCY4 encodes a member of the adenylate cyclase family, membrane-associated enzymes that catalyze the formation of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). Mouse studies indicate that adenylate cyclase 4, along with adenylate cyclases 2 and 3, is expressed in olfactory cilia, suggesting that multiple adenylate cyclases may couple to olfactory receptors and generate cAMP signals through different receptor-mediated mechanisms.
