Target Information

Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein (hnRNP) family protein involved in mRNA processing mechanisms. It is a component of the CRD-mediated complex that promotes MYC mRNA stability. Isoforms 1, 2, and 3 associate with pre-mRNA, splicing intermediates, and mature mRNA complexes. Isoform 1 binds to apoB mRNA AU-rich sequences and participates in the APOB mRNA editosome complex, potentially modulating post-transcriptional C-to-U RNA editing via interaction with A1CF, APOBEC1, or RNA. It may be involved in translationally coupled mRNA turnover and cytoplasmic mRNA decay processes. Isoform 3 is associated with vesicle-based mRNA transport through interaction with synaptotagmins. Additionally, it is a component of the GAIT (gamma interferon-activated inhibitor of translation) complex, which mediates transcript-selective translation inhibition during inflammatory responses.
