Target Information
The LMAN1 protein is a type I integral membrane protein localized in the intermediate region between the endoplasmic reticulum and the Golgi apparatus, likely recycling between these compartments. It acts as a mannose-specific lectin and belongs to a novel family of plant lectin homologs involved in the secretory pathway of animal cells. Mutations in this gene are linked to combined factor V-factor VIII deficiency, a rare autosomal recessive coagulation disorder.
