Target Information
The PAX4 gene belongs to the paired box (PAX) family of transcription factors, which typically contain a paired box domain, an octapeptide, and a paired-type homeodomain. These genes play critical roles in fetal development and cancer growth. PAX4 is involved in pancreatic islet development, and studies in mice have shown its role in the differentiation of insulin-producing beta cells.
