Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional round of desalting using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL (Product #89882).
Target Information
The TDG gene encodes a thymine-DNA glycosylase belonging to the TDG/mug DNA glycosylase family.
This enzyme removes thymine moieties from G/T mismatches by hydrolyzing the carbon-nitrogen bond between the sugar-phosphate backbone of DNA and mismatched thymine.
It also exhibits lower activity for C/T and T/T mispairings and can remove uracil and 5-bromouracil from mispairings with guanine.
TDG plays a central role in protecting cells from mutations caused by spontaneous deamination of 5-methylcytosine and cytosine.
A pseudogene may exist on chromosome 12p.
