Target Information
The protein encoded by the KIF25 gene is a member of the kinesin-like protein family. Members of this family are microtubule-dependent molecular motors that transport organelles within cells and move chromosomes during cell division. The specific function of KIF25 has not yet been determined.
Two alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described, and other splice variants lacking exon 2 and the translation initiation codon have been identified.
