RAI3 유전자는 retinoic acid에 의해 유도되며, type 3 G protein-coupled receptor family에 속합니다. 이 유전자는 7-transmembrane domain motif를 가지며, retinoid acid와 G protein 신호전달 경로 간의 상호작용에 관여할 가능성이 있습니다. RAI3는 폐, 신장, 결장, 췌장, 전립선, 소장 등에서 발현이 보고되었습니다. 또한 amnion, breast, colon, eye, lung, nasal cavity, placenta, skin, uterus, vessel 등의 라이브러리에서 ESTs가 분리되었습니다.
